The King is sitting judgment, looking much more imposing than he does in the text. Somehow he resembles a famous statue of Gustav Vasa, or Gustavus I, at Nordiska Muséet in Stockholm.

The resemblance to a
medieval game of chess from the Isle of Lewis
is even bigger!
